Saturday, June 3rd, 2017  – Old Fort Tours:

Take a tour of the birthplace of Las Vegas with someone who works there.  This guided walk-through covers the timeline of settlement on the site and includes a discussion of historical visuals, artifacts, and natural resources..

WHEN: Saturday, June 3rd, 11:00 a.m..to 2:00 p.m.

Saturday, June 10th, 2017  – History Talk: OD Gass and his Era:

Octavius Decatur Gass, who owned and worked the Los Vegas Rancho from 1865 to 1881, is a perfect example of the economic optimism and adventurous spirit that characterized the American experience in the 19th century. Come learn about the life and times of this fascinating rancher, prospector, legislator, and entrepreneur and the grand plans he had for developing the region.

Saturday, June 17th, 2017  –Music of the Era:

Music was a very important aspect of social life at the Old Fort for decades, and we will be bringing back many of the songs of the era for this indoor concert.  Join the Nevada Old Time Fiddlers for a live performance that will include famous pioneer songs as well as some songs that were popular when Helen J. Stewart owned the site.

WHEN: Saturday, June 17th, 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m..

 Saturday, June 24th, 2017  – Native American Basket Craft:

Southern Nevada has a rich history of beautiful Native American baskets, and now you can make your own basket replica using a paper cup and raffia!  This self-guided activity is meant for children 11 and under but many adults will also enjoy this craft.

WHEN: Saturday, June 24th, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
