Saturday, July 1st, 2017  – Old Fort Tours:

Take a tour of the birthplace of Las Vegas with someone who works there.  This guided walkthrough covers the timeline of settlement on the site and includes a discussion of historical visuals, artifacts, and natural resources.

WHEN: Saturday, July 1st, 11:00 a.m..&  2:00 p.m.

Saturday, July 8th, 2017  – Indoor Talk: Get Creative With Your Family History:

Local author Vicki Niggemeyer will be discussing ways of saving and sharing your family history in this 30-minute indoor presentation.   This program will discuss ways to introduce children to the value of genealogy as well as many unique ideas for preserving and passing along our cherished stories.

Saturday, July 15th, 2017  –Make Your Own Dream Catcher:

Learn how to keep bad dreams away by making your own dream catcher.  Supplies will be provided by the Fort.  This self-guided program is geared for children 12 years of age and below.

WHEN: Saturday, July 15th, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

 Saturday, July 22nd, 2017  – Pioneer Day:

Celebrate the pioneer lifestyle with one of our biggest events of the year.  This family-friendly affair will feature pioneer games, children’s crafts, food concessions, live music, free train rides, and more!

WHEN: Saturday, July 22nd, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Saturday, July 29th, 2017  – History Talk: Soldiers at the Old Fort:

Although no battles ever occurred at the Old Mormon Fort, the site had an interesting relationship with the U.S. Military.  This ranger-led talk will discuss the many instances when soldiers were on site, including a look at the famous expeditions that passed through, the controversial role of the Old Fort in the Civil War, and the story of the garrison that was stationed here in the late 1860’s.
